I am a research data scientist and open-source software developer. I have completed my PhD in Systems Engineering at George Washington University, advised by Professor John Helveston.
My research is proudly funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
I study human behavior in transportation systems using discrete choice models and scenario simulation, focusing on smart charging adoption and economy to generate policy suggestions for policymakers and utilities.
I develop open-source R tools for survey design and discrete choice modeling, including 
surveydown, a programmable, markdown-based survey platform built on Quarto, Shiny, and PostgreSQL, and its companion GUI 
sdstudio.
I build software with agentic workflows around Claude Code and Codex, extending them with skills, MCP servers, and hooks. I write tutorials and share my own workflows on the blog, and run a workshop at GW TAI for researchers and developers.
With Professor Helveston, I run 
Alkaline Software, an app development studio, where we build desktop apps in Rust with GPUI using the same workflows. Our flagship product is 
Emaki, an Agentic Development Environment (ADE).

I am married and have a busy and enjoyable life with my wife. We have a cat named Pinocchio.
